After the valuable indications gathered during a challenging weekend at Spa-Francorchamps, the Italian-Canadian driver is ready to return immediately to action with Target Competition for the fifth round of the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup.

Budapest (H), July 22, 2026 – Aldo Festante is ready to contest the fifth round of the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, scheduled from July 24 to 26 at the Hungaroring as part of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.

Just a few days after the Spa-Francorchamps round, the Italian-Canadian driver will return behind the wheel of Target Competition’s #28 Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), aiming to turn the analysis carried out following the Belgian event into a tangible step forward in terms of competitiveness.

The seventeenth-place finish recorded in the Ardennes did not reflect the expectations of Festante and the team, but the weekend provided a significant amount of data and helped identify more precisely the areas requiring improvement. The short interval between the two events will now allow the team to immediately assess the solutions developed after Spa.

The Hungaroring will present a very different challenge. The circuit located just outside Budapest features an almost uninterrupted sequence of corners, with very few opportunities to break the rhythm and limited chances to overtake. Driving precision, stability on corner entry and the ability to remain effective through rapid changes of direction will therefore be crucial, as will the outcome of qualifying.

Track action will begin on Friday, July 24, with the free practice session scheduled from 18:30 to 19:15. Qualifying will take place on Saturday, July 25, from 11:20 to 11:50, while the race will start on Sunday, July 26, at 10:10 and run until 10:45, ahead of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix.

Aldo Festante:
“A weekend like the one we experienced at Spa did not give us much in terms of championship results, but it provided us with a great deal of information regarding the parameters to analyse and the areas where we need to improve. It was therefore extremely useful in helping us understand the direction we have to take and identify more clearly what needs to be addressed. In Budapest, we will try to put everything we learned into practice, and I sincerely hope it can mark an important turnaround. The goal is to return to a more competitive level and head into the summer break with a significant result.”
