POLE POSITION AND DOUBLE VICTORY FOR FESTANTE

STAVELOT – Aldo Festante amazed everyone with a perfect performance: pole position in qualifying and two first places in Race 1 and Race 2. The only flaw of the weekend? Having lost a wheel in qualifying 2.
The penultimate round of the GT Open Cup in Spa, saw Aldo Festante reconfirming himself as the leader of the general classification. The weekend, held from 16 to 18 October, was characterized by the incredible performances of the Capua native pilot, who attacked the asphalt of the Belgian circuit with the usual determination that distinguishes him. On the first day, Aldo fought in qualifying with the other pilots, until he conquered the pole position. In Race 1, then, Aldo raced through the pitfalls of the Circuit de Spa – Francorchamps juggling his opponents, to finish in the first position, climbing on the top step of the podium once again. The second day of competition, on the other hand, stood out for the vicissitudes that Festante went through: in qualifying a technical problem led to the detachment of a front wheel of the car, forcing the driver to stop. Race 2 saw the presence of debris on the track surface, making the race riskier, however Festante, thanks also to the extraordinary support of the team, managed to reach the first position, taking home a podium and reconfirming himself as number one in the standings.
Great satisfaction therefore for the young pilot and the team, with which the hard work carried out during the season brought the desired results.
“It may look easy from the outside but I assure you we worked very hard to achieve those results this weekend. We were clearly slower in free practice, the quali one pole lap was a combination of efforts done by me and the team to improve driving and setup, the battle to win race one only ended with less than a fifth of the total race time to go. On Sunday we had to live with a technical issue in quali and some damage caused by debris during the race and with a great strategy we managed to win again, now we’ll focus on Barcelona to repeat ourselves.”
