The Italian-Canadian driver finished 17th in the fourth round of the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup after working closely with Target Competition to improve the performance of the #28 Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), but without finding the pace needed to move up the order.
Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), July 20, 2026 – Aldo Festante finished 17th in the fourth round of the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, held at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps as part of the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
The weekend proved more challenging than expected for the Italian-Canadian driver and Target Competition. From the very first free practice session, which he completed in 17th place, Festante experienced a lack of competitiveness that prevented him from fighting among the front-runners.
The work carried out together with the team between free practice and qualifying led to improvements in both the balance of the car and the driver’s confidence behind the wheel of the #28 Porsche 911 Cup (992.2). As a result, Festante improved both his position and the gap to the benchmark times, qualifying 16th with a lap of 2:19.446.
However, those improvements were not enough to provide the pace required to make significant progress during the race. On the long and demanding Ardennes circuit, Festante remained in the group from which he had started, without the opportunity to mount a meaningful recovery. After making the most of every opportunity and maintaining a consistent pace throughout the race, the Target Competition driver crossed the finish line in 17th position.
Aldo Festante:
“It was a weekend in which we definitely expected more. Right from free practice we realised we were lacking pace and weren’t as competitive as we wanted to be. Together with the team we managed to make some improvements for qualifying, gaining a little both in terms of position and the gap to the front. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make a real impact in the race. We simply didn’t have the pace needed to attack and recover positions, so we basically remained with the group we started in. We’ll carefully analyse this weekend to understand where we can improve and come back stronger at the next round.”
The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup returns to action immediately next weekend, from July 24–26 at the Hungaroring, where the fifth round of the season will take place as part of the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix weekend.
