LE CASTELLET – Positive weekend that of Paul Ricard for Aldo Festante, culminating with an absolute fifth place in Race 1. The capuano rider takes a leap forward also in the general standings going from 12th to 9th place and confirming himself second in the rookie classification.
The second stage of the Euroformula Open championship took place on the famous Paul Ricard circuit, where Aldo Festante showed a clear improvement compared to the first round in Portugal, winning a fifth place in Race 1. The result was different in Race 2 where the driver capuano failed to go beyond the tenth place, due to some errors and a technical problem with the brakes found during the race. However, the balance is positive as Festante with the results obtained at Paul Ricard has managed to conquer three positions in the general classification, thus finishing in ninth place and climbing in second position in the Rookie standings. The driver is determined to face the third round at Spa with determination and enthusiasm, improving his performance and gaining important points to climb the general classification.
“A very tough race, always in battle, I certainly made mistakes in Race 2 that weighed heavily on the final result, plus I had a problem with the brakes since the start of the training session. I felt a lack of performance that accompanied me throughout the race. Unfortunately the sum of some mistakes too much and this problem with the brakes made us stop in tenth place. There is nothing left but to work hard for Spa and take us back to Belgium. A positive result, however, we bring home two cups and the top five yesterday showed that we have a great potential, we just have to scrape the diamond and work harder and harder to get even higher. “
