Aldo Festante completed the opening round of the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, taking on the iconic streets of Monte Carlo with Target Competition.

For the Italian-Canadian driver, it marked his second career appearance on the legendary streets of the Principality, one of the most demanding and prestigious circuits in international motorsport. Monaco once again proved to be a unique challenge, both emotionally and competitively, where precision, concentration and risk management play a decisive role.

The weekend became more challenging after brake issues affected qualifying, limiting the potential of the #28 Target Competition Porsche 911 Cup (992.2). Festante ultimately secured 19th on the grid with a best lap of 1:33.621, leaving him with a difficult task on a circuit where overtaking has always been one of the greatest challenges.

In the race, the Italian-Canadian driver fought hard to make progress, becoming involved in several battles throughout the field while searching for every possible opportunity to move forward. After 17 laps, Festante crossed the finish line in 20th position, adding another valuable learning experience to his adaptation programme with the new Porsche 911 Cup (992.2).

Aldo Festante:
“Racing in Monte Carlo is always an incredible privilege. It is a circuit that leaves you speechless and delivers unique emotions every time you line up on the grid. This was my second time racing here and I can confirm that Monaco is a real roulette, both emotionally and from a sporting perspective. Unfortunately, we experienced some brake issues in qualifying which slowed us down, and starting so far back here means you have to push to the limit even in places where it would normally be impossible. We fought hard throughout the race, looking for every opportunity to gain positions, but in Monaco it is often easier to damage the car than complete an overtake. We still take away valuable experience and plenty of mileage. Now our focus shifts to Barcelona, which is already just around the corner, and we are ready to get back on track.”

With the Monaco weekend now behind him, Festante’s attention immediately turns to the next round of the season, scheduled for next weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
