Following his weekend in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, the Italian series gets underway. For the Italian-Canadian driver, it is an opportunity to capitalise on the mileage already completed at the Santerno circuit and aim for a strong result.
Imola, 22 April 2026 – Aldo Festante’s Imola run continues, with the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari once again playing a central role in the early phase of his 2026 season.
After a strong debut in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, it is now time to return to the track for the Italian series, which the Italian-Canadian driver will contest again with Target Competition, this time at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. It is a championship Festante knows well, having been part of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia grid since 2019.
The opening round will begin on Friday with Free Practice from 14:40, followed by Qualifying on Saturday at 10:40. Race 1 will take place later that day at 16:30, while Race 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 12:20. Both races will be broadcast live on DAZN (on demand) and streamed free-to-air on carreracupitalia.it, with commentary by Guido Schittone.
Aldo Festante:
“Having just raced at Imola, where we also completed several pre-season tests, is a strong starting point. It’s worth noting that in the German series we used the new Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), so the data we collected will need to be adapted to the GT3 Cup, but we are confident we can do a good job. The level will, as always, be very high — the Italian series remains one of the benchmarks in Europe, so we will need to work in detail from Free Practice to ensure the best possible set-up.”
