The 2026 season reaches its final round in the prestigious setting of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix. The Italian-Canadian driver returns to a circuit where he finished second in Porsche Carrera Cup Italia last June: “We need one final push. We will give everything to end this international season with a strong result.”

Monza (ITA), September 3rd, 2026 – It is the most eagerly awaited weekend and undoubtedly one of the most emotional of the season for Aldo Festante, who is ready to contest the final round of the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup at the legendary Autodromo Nazionale Monza from September 4th to 6th, as part of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix weekend.

At the wheel of the #28 Target Competition Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), the Italian-Canadian driver will tackle the eighth and final round of Porsche’s premier international one-make series with a clear objective: to end a Supercup campaign that has proved more challenging than expected with a result of real significance.

Monza, however, is a particularly encouraging venue from both a technical and sporting perspective. Festante has already shown this season that the Italian circuit suits him well. During the third round of Porsche Carrera Cup Italia last June, he claimed second overall in Race 2 after showing competitive pace throughout the weekend. That performance provides valuable references ahead of this weekend, although the level of competition in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup remains exceptionally high.

At 5.793 kilometres, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza remains one of the fastest and most iconic circuits in world motorsport. Long sections at full throttle are broken up by some of the heaviest braking zones of the season, from the opening Variante del Rettifilo to the Variante della Roggia. The Lesmo corners, Variante Ascari and Curva Alboreto complete a lap where top speed, braking stability and precision will all be crucial. With the field traditionally separated by extremely small margins, slipstream management and qualifying performance could also play a decisive role.

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup programme will begin on Friday, September 4th at 17:30 with a 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying will follow on Saturday, September 5th at 10:50, before the final race of the season gets underway on Sunday, September 6th at 11:45.

The event will be available live on F1 TV and, in Italy, on Sky Sport and via streaming platform NOW.

Aldo Festante:
“Monza is definitely one of the circuits we like the most, and we have already shown this year in Carrera Cup Italia that we can be competitive here. That gives us confidence, although we know very well that Supercup is a different environment and the level is incredibly high. We arrive at the final race with a lot of motivation. Our international season has been more difficult than we expected and we have not been able to achieve the results we wanted. That is exactly why our goal at Monza is to finish the year in a completely different way, fighting towards the front and finally putting together a weekend that reflects our true potential. We know that everything will need to come together and that we must get every detail right from free practice onwards. We need one final push and one last big effort from everyone.”
