Monza, June 22nd 2026 – Aldo Festante ended the third round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2026 with a very positive result at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. The Italian-Canadian driver, at the wheel of the #15 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup fielded by Target Competition, was one of the main contenders of the weekend. He delivered a solid and consistent performance, taking fourth place in race one and second place in race two.
The weekend had started with the eighth-fastest time in free practice, in a session mainly used to regain references and adapt the technical work to the current configuration of the car. Festante then made a clear step forward in qualifying, setting the fifth-fastest time in 1’48.277 and, above all, the second-best lap in the timesheet used to define the grid for race two, with a 1’48.309.
In race one, Festante showed strong race management in a close and eventful contest. He stayed clear of contact and initially crossed the line in fifth position. A post-race penalty given to one of his rivals then promoted him to fourth place, securing an important result for the championship.
His race two performance was even stronger. The Target Competition driver started from the front row and maintained a very competitive pace throughout the race. Although he was unable to launch a decisive attack for victory, Festante managed his rhythm well and finished second, returning to the podium in one of the most prestigious rounds of the calendar.
The Monza result allows Festante to relaunch his Porsche Carrera Cup Italia 2026 campaign. He now sits fourth in the standings with 75 points.
Aldo Festante:
“The weekend was not expected to be easy, because Monza always has its own challenges. We had driven here a few months ago, but without ABS, so with the current technical configuration we started without direct references. We worked from last year’s data and had very little time in free practice, but the work done with the team allowed us to find a good direction straight away. Qualifying confirmed that. Of course, we would have liked a little more, but being competitive on both good laps was fundamental. Across the two races we scored important points, managed the weekend intelligently and took a podium that gives us confidence. It is a positive result for the championship and a good base to build from.”
