The Italian-Canadian driver launches his international Porsche one-make programme at the Emilia-Romagna circuit during the FIA WEC weekend.
Imola, 16 April 2026 – Aldo Festante is ready to return to the track for the start of the 2026 season, which will see him engaged in a comprehensive programme across Italy and Europe with Target Competition in the main Porsche one-make series.
The season debut is scheduled for this weekend at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, where the Italian-Canadian driver will contest the opening round of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, as part of the prestigious FIA World Endurance Championship support event. Festante will race the new Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), carrying number #15.
Following extensive pre-season work, which allowed Festante to build valuable mileage and regain confidence with the car, the Imola round represents the first real benchmark in a highly competitive and technical environment.
The weekend programme will get underway on Friday 17 April with Free Practice from 14:00 to 15:00. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday 18 April from 11:45 to 12:20, followed by Race 1 in the late afternoon, from 17:40 to 18:15. Race 2 will take place on Sunday, again at 17:40.
For Festante, it marks a highly anticipated return to racing activity on a circuit he knows well and where he has already worked extensively during the preparation phase.
Aldo Festante:
“It’s great to be back in the car in a race environment. Imola is a track I really enjoy, it has a unique character, and having completed a lot of running here during testing gives us a solid base to start from. It will be an intense period with several back-to-back commitments, but that’s exactly what I was looking for. I missed the adrenaline and the feeling of a race weekend – I can’t wait to get started.”
