The Italian-Canadian driver will tackle the Ardennes circuit in Target Competition’s #28 Porsche 911 Cup (992.2). After scoring points in Barcelona, the objective is to convert into a strong result the potential shown during the previous round at the Red Bull Ring.
Spa-Francorchamps (BEL), 16 July 2026 – Aldo Festante is ready to return to action in the 2026 Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which will visit the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps from 17 to 19 July as part of the Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
Following his latest commitments in the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, the Target Competition driver will return to the international stage of Porsche’s flagship one-make series. Festante will once again be behind the wheel of the #28 Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), the car in which he scored his first points of the season during the Barcelona round.
The Belgian event will represent another opportunity to confirm the progress shown during the previous round at the Red Bull Ring. On the Austrian circuit, Festante and Target Competition delivered a very positive level of performance, although they were unable to fully convert the car’s potential into a final result that reflected their expectations.
The objective at Spa-Francorchamps will therefore be to build on the positive indications gathered during the previous outings. Festante already knows the circuit, having last raced there in May during the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland round. The encouraging feeling collected on that occasion will provide an important foundation ahead of what promises to be a particularly intense and closely contested weekend.
At 7.004 kilometres, Spa is the longest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar. Its layout features 21 corners, significant elevation changes and some of the most iconic sections in world motorsport, including Eau Rouge-Raidillon, the Kemmel Straight, Pouhon and Blanchimont. High average speeds, severe compressions and often changeable weather conditions make it essential to find the right compromise between aerodynamic efficiency, stability through the high-speed corners and precision under braking.
Aldo Festante:
“We are returning to the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup after our latest commitments in Italy, and we will try to pick up from where we left off. We know we have the potential to be competitive, and we will work to turn that feeling into performance. At Spa, the objective will be to deliver a concrete result.“Racing on such a legendary circuit is always special. We were already here in May for the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, and the feeling was very positive. We will try to make the most of the experience and the work completed on that occasion in order to perform even better this weekend.”
Track action for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup will begin on Friday evening with the free practice session. Qualifying will take place on Saturday morning, while the race will get underway on Sunday at 11:45, just a few hours before the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
