The Italian-Canadian driver returns to the wheel of the #15 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup run by Target Competition for a weekend highlighted by the spectacular night race.
Aldo Festante is ready to return to action this weekend for Round 2 of the 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, taking place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
The Italian-Canadian driver will be back behind the wheel of the #15 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup run by Target Competition for one of the most anticipated weekends of the season, which will also mark the return of the spectacular night race, one of the most iconic and fascinating events on the Italian Porsche one-make championship calendar.
Following encouraging feedback from the pre-season testing programme and the recent work completed during the official Porsche Motorsport test in Barcelona, Festante heads to Misano aiming to continue his development path and quickly find the right rhythm in an extremely competitive technical environment.
The weekend schedule begins on Thursday 7 May with the pre-race test sessions from 11:20 to 13:20 and from 16:40 to 18:40. Friday evening will feature Free Practice from 21:00 to 22:00. Qualifying is scheduled for Saturday at 10:30, followed by Race 1 at 21:10 under the lights of the Misano circuit. Race 2 will instead start on Sunday at 12:10.
The night race will represent one of the key challenges of the weekend, requiring particular attention in managing track conditions, temperatures and overall car behaviour throughout the race.
Both races will follow the traditional 30 minutes + 1 lap format and will be commentated by Guido Schittone, with live and on-demand coverage available on DAZN — including among the platform’s free content after registration — as well as HD live streaming on the official website www.carreracupitalia.it

Aldo Festante:
“We arrive in Misano after the official Porsche Motorsport test in Barcelona, so we are starting to build an important rhythm and it will be crucial to stay focused and adapt quickly to the weekend. I know the track very well and the tests completed earlier this year gave us positive feedback, so I hope to have good pace from the first sessions and keep it throughout the weekend. Racing at night will definitely add another aspect to manage and work on in order to maintain performance at a high level.”
