ALDO FESTANTE FINISHES IN THE TOP TEN AT MONZA

MONZA – A weekend of increasing performances for Aldo Festante who conquers a top five in qualifying, eighth place in Race 1, and tenth place in Race 2, improving his performances compared to previous races.

The penultimate stage of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia took place from 8 to 9 October in the legendary “Autodromo Nazionale di Monza”. Aldo Festante can now be defined as a veteran of the Brianza circuit, having raced there several times aboard single-seaters and GT cars.
The weekend started well on Friday, with free practice, during which Aldo was able to validate the technical choices made by the Raptor Engineering technicians.
The Qualifying was held on Saturday morning, where Aldo and the Raptor team showed their competitiveness by obtaining a third place in Q1 and fifth place in Q2. The starting grid, therefore, saw Porsche # 15 take a position in the third row for the start of Race 1.
The race on Saturday afternoon was a succession of overtaking, yellow flags, and safety cars, due to the numerous contacts at the edge of the regulation and sometimes even beyond the same. Aldo finished the race in the eighth position, managing to bring his Porsche GT3 unharmed under the paddock of the Raptor Engineering team.
In Race 2 Festante started eighth, with the Brianza track now dry after the violent rain in the morning, which led the race direction to cancel some of the previous races scheduled. The Capua native pilot race ended in the tenth position, thus closing a weekend during which Aldo was unable to realize all the speed potential shown.
However, it was a weekend that showed a lot of improvement compared to the previous races, which left the pilot and team moderately satisfied and aware that they could aspire to a good result in the last round of the Porsche Carrera Cup at Mugello in two weeks.

“We closed the Monza weekend with a top 5 in qualifying and two top 10 finishes in the two races, in which some slight technical problems accompanied by some of my mistakes in the hottest phases of the brawl did not allow us to do better. In any case, we came out solidly from the negative streak we started before the summer break and we are ready to work hard in view of Mugello to end the championship in the best way possible.”
