ALDO FESTANTE ALMOST ON PODIUM AT IMOLA

IMOLA – A weekend full of twists, that of Imola, where the Capua native pilot almost reached a podium in Race 1 that seemed close at hand, thwarted by a contact in the final minutes of the race.
The third round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, held from 23 to 25 July at the legendary Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack, was characterized by a lot of speed, numerous overtaking, and a lot of competition. Aldo Festante started the weekend well, obtaining the sixth position in qualifying, useful for establishing the starting grid for Race 1. At the start, Festante was able to manage the first exciting stages of the race with intelligence, producing a peremptory performance that gave him allowed to climb up to the third position. Close to the top of the standings, the Capua native pilot continued to fight in an attempt to reach the first position but, with just over two minutes to go, contact with one of the opponents cost him the loss of many positions. However, Festante, not losing heart, manages to close the race in the fourteenth position.
Race 2 started in the seventh row for the young pilot, who at the start pushed his Carrera in a sporting battle full of twists, which saw Festante closing the Imola weekend in the tenth position.
A good performance by Aldo on a complex and articulated circuit, which saw several contacts between drivers, a red flag in race 2, and numerous spins that upset the standings in the space of a few seconds. An exciting weekend, during which Festante once again confirmed that he can compete for the top positions and that he is at ease even on a technical track like that of Imola.
Now the young pilot will await the two months preceding the fourth round of the championship in Vallelunga, working with his team to face the second part of the series with renewed ambitions.
“Another weekend in which we did not concretize, once again demonstrating great speed on the race pace. We now have two months of work ahead of us to improve some areas for the second half of the season. “
