A WEEKEND MARKED BY TWISTS IN VALLELUNGA

CAMPAGNANO DI ROMA – Vallelunga weekend is full of twists. Aldo Festante, following a contact with another car, goes off the track, retiring from Race1. Race 2 sees him start from twenty-ninth and recover thirteen positions throughout the race, finishing the weekend in sixteenth place.
The fourth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup was held from 17 to 18 of September, on the Vallelunga “Piero Taruffi” racetrack. A heat that was full of pitfalls, characterized by the presence of several safety cars, over the two races.
Aldo Festante started the weekend, with good free practice and positive qualifying. Race 1 saw him start from the fifth row, in tenth place. The race got off to a very chaotic beginning, due to the early start of the pilot in the third position. Shortly after, Aldo Festante, due to an error and contact with another driver, ended up off the track, against the barriers, fortunately without consequences. Thus ended the first of the races of the Lazio weekend for the young pilot from Capua.
In Race 2 Aldo started in the fifteenth row, in the twenty-ninth place, as a consequence of retiring in Race 1. Despite the backward position, the young pilot used his technical background recovering thirteen positions and closing the weekend in sixteenth place.
“A weekend that started well but did not bring the expected results. After convincing free practice sessions and fairly positive qualifying, in race one a contact first and a mistake put me out of action on the first lap, in race two we started from the last row and we could only limit the damage. Special thanks to all those who came to see the race and the Raptor Engineering team for their support and commitment. Now we will try to start over to end this championship with positive results.”
