A HARD-FOUGHT ROUND AT MUGELLO

SCARPERIA E SAN PIERO – Aldo Festante closed the weekend at the Mugello circuit in the top ten in Race 1. A round characterized by a contact in Race 2, that caused him to retire on Sunday morning.
The third heat of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia was held from 16 to 17 July at the famous Mugello Circuit. The race weekend was hot, with air temperatures above 36 ° and up to 52 ° on the asphalt. Conditions that made the round on a complex circuit like the Mugello one even more treacherous, with the riders having to pay great attention to tire management.
Aldo Festante started the Tuscan round by claiming eleventh place in the qualifying.
In Race 1 Festante starting from the eleventh position, fought for all twenty-eight minutes plus one lap, finishing in the ninth position under the checkered flag.
Determined to conquer other positions in Race 2, Festante managed to climb up to sixth place, when, during the duel with Giammarco Levorato and following contact between the cars, he hit a tire and finished the race in the escape routes of the Tuscan circuit. A real shame given the excellent pace shown by the pilot with his Porsche # 15 Raptor Engineering.
A weekend that demonstrates the remarkable speed potential of the Capua native driver, giving good hope for an improvement in results for the second part of the championship. While waiting for the Vallelunga stage, after the summer break, Festante and the Raptor Engineering team will carry out a careful analysis and preparation work, to be able to restart in the best possible way and translate the great potential into positive results.
“Weekend during which we constantly improved; the car in the race was competitive and on Sunday there was the pace to reach for the podium. Too bad for the episode that marked the end of my race, a silly contact that was enough to hit the left front wheel. In Vallelunga we will continue to improve and do well.”
